Artashes Babayan

Producer, Director of the Yerevan State Puppet Theatre after H.Tumanyan

He was born on March 24, 1995, in Yerevan. In 2012 he finished secondary school No 8 of Yerevan after A. Pushkin. During 2012-2016 he studied at Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinematography, faculty of Theory and Management of Arts. In 2018 he completed his master’s studies in the same faculty. During 2018-2020 he served in the Armed Forces of RA. In 2013 he took part in the Panrussian Theatre Festival Golden Mask in Moscow and in the programs of training of art managers, in 2014 at the International Theatre Festival SunFest of Venice city of the USA and at the producers’ training program, in 2015 at the forum of art managers of Frankfurt city in Germany. During 2007-2017 he was the head of the team of translators and volunteers of the International Theatre Festival High Fest, responsible for the issues of international guests, during 2008-2014 the head of the group of volunteers of the festival Theatre X, in 2012 he was the responsible of the production Redbull x-fighters. In 2010 he was the assistant to the general coordinator of the rock group Deep Purple and in 2009- 2012 Ian Anderson and Jethro Tull. During the years 2012-2014 he was the machinist of Yerevan State Puppet theatre named after H. Tumanyan, during 2014-2018 the producer and the responsible for international affairs, 2020-2022 the deputy director of artistic and organizational issues. Since 2022 he has been managing the theatre. Since 2021 he has been teaching artist’s management at Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinematography. Since 2012 he has taken part in a number of international festivals as a member of Yerevan State Puppet theatre named after H. Tumanyan in more than 20 countries. He realized a number of projects among them tourney of the rock group Dogma (2015, RA), International Rock Festival Music Drive (2017), Epic Rock International festival in Tsakhkadzor (2017-2018), Open Spaces project dedicated to Hovhannes Tumanyan (2020), One day in a miracle (2020-2022), The evening with Ferdinant (2021), Bim Bom Children Puppet Entertainment TV project (2021-2022), the performance Oskar and the lady in Pink (2021), Lori Quest project with the revelations of Middle Age Adventures (2022), within the frames of the music festival Haya French singer of Jazz, Hollywood Star 50 Cent, Lady Zeppelin Symphonic Orchestra concerts (2022), etc…
